 Call to Worship  (Clergy Stuff)

LEADER:      Rejoice in the Lord always!
ALL:             Again, I will say, rejoice!
LEADER:      Do not worry about anything,
ALL:             But in everything by prayer with thanksgiving let your requests be                                               made known to God.
LEADER:     And the peace of God, which passes all understanding,
ALL:            Will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Opening Prayer (Clergy Stuff)

 ALL:  Holy Spirit, You alone are the source of all wisdom and understanding. By your guidance, open our minds to learn from our neighbors of every language and culture around the world, that in so doing we might find you everywhere we look, and treat all of creation with the same lovingkindness we would want to receive ourselves. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

*Opening Song         Lord I Lift Your Name on High             TFWS 2088

Lord, I lift your
name on high;
Lord, I love to
sing your praises.

I’m so glad
you’re in my life;
I’m so glad you
came to save us.

You came from
heaven to earth,
to show the way,
from the earth to the cross
my debt to pay;

from the cross
to the grave,
from the grave to the sky;
Lord, I lift your
name on high.

RESPONDING

*Sermon Song  Spirit of the Living God   UMH 393

Spirit of the living God,
fall afresh on me.
Spirit of the living God,
fall afresh on me.

Melt me, mold me,
fill me, use me.
Spirit of the living God,
fall afresh on me.

Prayers of the People

God of new life, hear our prayer.

The Lord’s Prayer (Spoken)

All: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.

Offertory         Craig Nickerson, Organist

 *Offering Response   Praise God, from Whom All Blessings Flow   (UMH 94)

 *Prayer of Dedication  (Clergy Stuff)

ALL:  Loving God, in your boundless generosity, you provide your children with daily bread. In joyful gratitude we give back this portion of what you have given us, that you would use these, our gifts, to shine your love on all of creation. Amen.

SENDING

 *Closing Song      Rejoice, Ye Pure in Heart       UMH 160

1. Rejoice, ye
pure in heart;
rejoice, give thanks
and sing;
your glorious banner
wave on high,
the cross of Christ
your King.

Refrain

Hosanna! Hosanna!
Rejoice, give thanks,
and sing.

2. Your clear hosannas raise,
and alleluias loud;
whilst answering echoes
upward float,
like wreaths of
incense cloud.

Refrain

Hosanna! Hosanna!
Rejoice, give thanks,
and sing.

3. Yes, on through
life’s long path,
still chanting as ye go;
from youth to age,
by night and day,
in gladness and in woe.

Refrain

Hosanna! Hosanna!
Rejoice, give thanks,
and sing.

4. At last the
march shall end;
the wearied ones shall rest;
the pilgrims find
their heavenly home,
Jerusalem the blest.

Refrain

Hosanna! Hosanna!
Rejoice, give thanks,
and sing.

5. Praise God who
reigns on high,
the Lord whom we adore,
the Father, Son,
and Holy Ghost,
one God forevermore.

Refrain

Hosanna! Hosanna!
Rejoice, give thanks,
and sing.
