Call to Worship Breakthrough Series)
LEADER: There is a time for everything, a season for every activity under heaven.
ALL: Today is a time to pause, to breathe, and to rest.
LEADER: In the rhythm of life, God calls us to balance.
ALL: We come to seek that balance, to align our hearts with God’s rhythm.
LEADER: Let us rest in God’s presence, knowing that rest is holy.
ALL: Let us enter into this season with rest.
Opening Prayer (Breakthrough Series)
ALL: God of all seasons, help us find balance in the rhythm of our lives. Teach us to rest in You, trusting that in our stillness, You are at work renewing us. Amen.
*Opening Song Make Me a Channel of Your Peace TFWS 2171
1. Make me a channel
of your peace.
Where there is hatred,
let me bring your love,
Where there is injury,
your pardon, Lord,
and where there’s doubt,
true faith in you.
2. Make me a channel
of your peace.
Where there’s
despair in life,
let me bring hope.
Where there is darkness,
only light,
and where there’s sadness,
ever joy.
3. Oh, Master, grant that
I may never seek
so much to be consoled
as to console,to be understood
as to understand,
to be loved
as to love
with all my soul.
4. Make me a channel
of your peace.
It is in pardoning
that we are pardoned,
In giving of ourselves
that we receive,
and in dying that
we’re born to eternal life.

RESPONDING
*Sermon Song Hymn of Promise UMH 707
1. In the bulb
there is a flower;
in the seed, an apple tree;
in cocoons, a hidden promise:
butterflies will soon be free!
In the cold
and snow of winter
there’s a spring
that waits to be,
unrevealed until its season,
something God alone can see.
2. There’s a song
in every silence,
seeking word and melody;
there’s a dawn
in every darkness,
bringing hope to you and me.
From the past
will come the future;
what it holds, a mystery,
unrevealed until its season,
something God alone can see.
3. In our end
is our beginning;
in our time, infinity;
in our doubt
there is believing;
in our life, eternity.
In our death, a resurrection;
at the last, a victory,
unrevealed until its season,
something God alone can see.
Prayers of the People
Leader: God of Rest, ALl: hear our prayer.
The Lord’s Prayer (Spoken)
All: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.

*Closing Song He Leadeth Me: O Blessed Thought UMH 128
1. He leadeth me:
O blessed thought!
O words with heavenly
comfort fraught!
Whate’er I do,
where’er I be,
still ’tis God’s hand
that leadeth me.
Refrain
He leadeth me,
he leadeth me,
by his own hand
he leadeth me;
his faithful follower
I would be,
for by his hand
he leadeth me.
Sometimes mid scenes
of deepest gloom,
sometimes where
Eden’s bowers bloom,
by waters still,
o’er troubled sea,
still ’tis his hand
that leadeth me.
Refrain
He leadeth me,
he leadeth me,
by his own hand
he leadeth me;
his faithful follower
I would be,
for by his hand
he leadeth me.
3. Lord, I would place
my hand in thine,
nor ever murmur
nor repine;
content, whatever
lot I see,
since ’tis my God
that leadeth me.
Refrain
He leadeth me,
he leadeth me,
by his own hand
he leadeth me;
his faithful follower
I would be,
for by his hand
he leadeth me.
4. And when my task
on earth is done,
when by thy grace
the victory’s won,
e’en death’s cold wave
I will not flee,
since God through Jordan
leadeth me.
Refrain
He leadeth me,
he leadeth me,
by his own hand
he leadeth me;
his faithful follower
I would be,
for by his hand
he leadeth me.
