We are called to submit ourselves to the Lordship of Christ, trusting that the grace given to us really does render us loved and lovable no matter what. Serving Jesus as Lord calls us into a bold and loving relationship with ALL of God’s beloved children.
This week’s service continued our series exploring our baptismal vows, focusing on Ephesians 4 and emphasizing the importance of resisting worldly influences and embracing a "God-fashioned life" renewed from within. We discussed how confessing Jesus as Lord means rejecting other powers and committing to serve in unity with the universal church, recognizing that true transformation involves honesty, forgiveness, and extending grace to all. Ultimately, we are called to embody Christ’s love by actively pursuing diverse relationships and understanding God's expansive nature through connection with others.
Reflection Questions for this Week:
- In what areas of your life do you find yourself most susceptible to "the ways of the world," and how can you intentionally shift towards a more “God-fashioned” way of living?
- Think about someone in your life who challenges or differs from you – how can you extend grace and understanding, actively seeking to learn from their perspective?
- How can we, as a congregation, better create space for honest conversations, vulnerability, and mutual accountability, mirroring the transformative power of Christ’s love?
