 Call to Worship  (Clergy Stuff)

LEADER:       God is near to all who call on God.
ALL:             We call in God in truth.
LEADER:       Let us speak God’s praise.
ALL:             All creation will bless God’s name forever.

Opening Prayer (Clergy Stuff)

 ALL: Risen God, you come into our midst and breathe on us your Holy Spirit. Empower us to believe at depth that you are with us, no matter how we experience you in our lives, and make us witnesses to one another of your very real presence among us. In your name we pray. Amen.

*Opening Song         You Alone Are Holy                   TFWS 2077

1. You alone are holy;
you alone are worthy;
you are filled with splendor
and with awesome wonder.
For our sins
you suffered,
died and resurrected,
granting us salvation,
giving us eternal life.

2. You alone are holy;
you alone are worthy;
you are filled with splendor
and with awesome wonder.
Send your Holy Spirit;
may it shine upon us.
Let your wondrous glory
with its radiance
fill this place.

RESPONDING

*Sermon Song  Thine Be the Glory     UMH 308

  1. Thine be the glory,
    risen, conquering Son;
    endless is the victory
    thou o’er death hast won.
    Angels in bright raiment
    rolled the stone away,
    kept the folded graveclothes
    where thy body lay.

Refrain

Thine be the glory,
risen, conquering Son;
endless is the victory
thou o’er death hast won.

  1. Lo! Jesus meets thee,
    risen from the tomb;
    lovingly he greets thee,
    scatters fear and gloom.
    Let the church with gladness
    hymns of triumph sing,
    for our Lord now liveth;
    death hath lost its sting.

Refrain

Thine be the glory,
risen, conquering Son;
endless is the victory
thou o’er death hast won.

  1. No more we doubt thee,
    glorious Prince of life!
    Life is naught
    without thee;
    aid us in our strife.
    Make us more
    than conquerors,
    through thy deathless love;
    bring us safe through Jordan
    to thy home above.

Refrain

Thine be the glory,
risen, conquering Son;
endless is the victory
thou o’er death hast won.

Prayers of the People

God of new life, hear our prayer.

The Lord’s Prayer (Spoken)

All: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.

Offertory                       Craig Nickerson, Organist

 *Offering Response   Praise God, from Whom All Blessings Flow   (UMH 94)

 *Prayer of Dedication  (Clergy Stuff)

ALL: Loving God, we offer these gifts out of the abundance you have first given us. Accept them, we pray, and use them to bear witness to your life-changing power, that all might come to love you and their neighbors as themselves. Amen.

SENDING

 *Closing Song Love Divine, All Loves Excelling    UMH 384

1. Love divine,
all loves excelling,
joy of heaven,
to earth come down;
fix in us thy
humble dwelling;
all thy faithful
mercies crown!
Jesus, thou art
all compassion,
pure, unbounded
love thou art;visit us with
thy salvation;
enter every
trembling heart.

2.  Breathe, O breathe
thy loving Spirit
into every
troubled breast!
Let us all
in thee inherit;
let us find that
second rest.
Take away
our bent to sinning;
Alpha and
Omega be;
end of faith,
as its beginning,
set our hearts
at liberty.

3. Come, Almighty
to deliver,
let us all
thy life receive;
suddenly return
and never,
nevermore thy
temples leave.
Thee we would be
always blessing,
serve thee as
thy hosts above,
pray and praise thee
without ceasing,
glory in thy
perfect love.

4. Finish, then,
thy new creation;
pure and spotless
let us be.
Let us see thy
great salvation
perfectly restored
in thee;
changed from glory
into glory,
till in heaven
we take our place,
till we cast our
crowns before thee,
lost in wonder,
love, and praise.
