Why Spiritual Companionship?
Spiritual Companionship (also known as spiritual direction) is akin to coaching and accompaniment for your spiritual life. It’s dedicated time to focus on yourself by refining your connection with the Divine, accompanied by a companion offering deep listening.
People seek spiritual direction for many reasons. Rev. Yost personally sought spiritual direction to deepen their prayer life and their connection with the Divine. During their time with my first spiritual director, Rev. Yost discovered that they needed spiritual guidance to heal past church trauma, solidify their identity in God, and discern their ministerial focus as they transitioned into a new career.
There are many reasons that people may want to have a spiritual director:
-
Deeper connection with the Divine
-
Discernment (seeking insight and judgment for choices)
-
Grow spiritually
-
Seek spiritual healing
-
Wrestle with the presence of the Divine in a world full of pain
-
Explore faith and spiritual practices
-
Feel connected with like-minded people to combat isolation
-
Feel more spiritually rooted in the Holy Wild around you

Why Spiritual Companionship with Rev. Yost?
My approach to spiritual companionship emphasizes integrating contemplative practices with active faith. Rooted in a deep commitment to helping individuals deepen their connection with the Divine, I foster a supportive environment for those seeking spiritual growth. Throughout many sessions, you can expect compassionate listening, sacred space creation, guided meditations, and personalized spiritual exercises, all of which allow you to explore your faith journey. Over time, you will wildcraft a set of spiritual practices that are for you.
With a compassionate and insightful approach, I help people discern life direction and nurture inner peace. My methods are grounded in practices across spiritual traditions. Spiritual direction is open to individuals of various backgrounds, making it inclusive and adaptable to meet their unique spiritual needs. Given my training as a former high school teacher, I am also ready and willing to work with High School Students.
My spiritual companionship is a ministry here at Arnolia. Thus, sessions are 100% donation-based.
